Editor,
Character and integrity matter in elections.
Renee Griffith falsified records of a building inspection form, lied about her actions and used a factitious source so she was asked to resign as Iredell County commissioner.
As Christians we can forgive transgressions however, Ms Griffith refused to take her name off the ballot and accept her dishonesty. We cannot forget how she jeopardized Iredell County's reputation and trust of our leaders.
Sara Tice was appointed interim commissioner. She served in the capacity for 18 years, 12 years as chair and has consented to serve our community.
To elect a write-in candidate is most difficult because informing everyone of the unfortunate circumstances is awkward and repugnant but must be done to maintain the reputation of the county board.
Ms Griffith MUST be held accountable for her actions.
Sara Tice is responsible, dependable, proven and committed to keep honor and respect in our Iredell County Commission. Trust of our elected officials is crucial.
Please write-in "SARA TICE" as Iredell Commissioner.
Connie Evans, Mooresville
