MOORESVILLE – Andrew Vitkus recently earned an Eagle Scout rank.

For his Eagle Scout project, Andrew led a team that built picnic benches and trash receptacles for the outdoor dining area at Mount Mourne IB School.

Andrew is a senior at the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. His parents serve as adult leaders in Mooresville Troop 166, which meets at 7 p.m. Mondays at First Presbyterian Church.
