CHARLOTTE – Hospitals across the Charlotte region are beginning to lift age restrictions for visitors due to a significant drop in the number of patients seen with flu-like symptoms.
Carolinas Medical Center had restricted visitors under age 12 from visiting at several of its hospitals, including CMC-University and CMC-Lincoln. That restriction was lifted at 6 a.m. Feb. 6.
Lake Norman Regional Medical Center is in the process of lifting its restrictions, as well, according to Leigh Whitfield, public relations director. Lake Norman Regional had restricted visitors younger than 16.
Iredell Memorial Hospital hasn’t lifted its restriction yet. The hospital doesn’t allow visitors younger than 18. q
